Parappanangadi police arrested Ali Akbar, 36, from Kannur for allegedly raping a divorced woman after promising to marry her and forcing her to abort her pregnancy. Police said the accused gave her pills that led to a miscarriage. He was arrested following the woman's complaint, produced before a court and remanded to Tirur Sub Jail.
