Malaysia PM orders ‘total lockdown’ from June 1 amid COVID surge
Malaysian PM Muhyiddin Yassin said the country would go into a "total lockdown" from June 1-14 amid rising COVID-19 cases. "With the latest rise in daily cases showing a drastically upward trend, hospital capacity across the country to treat COVID-19 patients is becoming limited," Yassin added. Malaysia on Friday reported 8,290 new COVID-19 cases, highest single-day spike since pandemic began.
