Maldives military takes control of Chagos waters in Indian Ocean
Maldives military has taken control of a part of the Chagos area's territorial waters in Indian Ocean, directly challenging international maritime law body ITLOS' ruling. The military said the move was made after President Mohamed Muizzu declared that Maldives doesn't recognise any changes to its territory. This comes amid Maldives' objection to UK's decision to give Chagos' control to Mauritius.
