Mali reports explosions, attack by 'unidentified terrorist groups'

Mali's army said "unidentified armed terrorist groups" ​attacked ⁠military positions ‌in several districts early ‌on Saturday. Two loud explosions and sustained gunfire were reportedly heard near their main military base in Kati, which houses the country's military ruler, General Assimi Goita. Notably, the West-African country has been battling affiliates of al-Qaeda and Islamic State for years.
