Man bitten by head of severed snake that he killed

A man in the US state of Texas required 26 doses of anti-venom after he was bitten by the severed head of a rattlesnake that he had killed. The head bit him on the hand while he was disposing of the remains of the four-foot snake. Notably, a snake's bite reflex can be triggered even hours after the animal dies.
