Man demands ₹4 crore as Shoppers Stop charges ₹10 for a bag, fined ₹10,000 instead

A Hyderabad-based consumer commission dismissed a complaint filed by a man who objected to being charged ₹10 for a Shoppers Stop carry bag and demanded ₹4 crore from the retailer. Finding the complaint "frivolous" and the complainant a "habitual litigant", the commission ordered him to pay ₹10,000. Shoppers Stop argued the consumer was informed beforehand that carry bags were chargeable.
