Man held for attacking Asian-American woman in NY, was on parole for killing mother

New York police have arrested a man for kicking and punching a 65-year-old Asian-American woman in New York City on Monday. Police said Brandon Elliot was released from prison in 2019 on lifetime parole for stabbing his mother to death in front of his five-year-old sister in 2002. Elliot has been charged with assault and attempted assault as hate crimes.
