Man in US sues OpenAI, claims ChatGPT's medical advice nearly killed him
Florida pastor Scott Winters has sued OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman, alleging ChatGPT dismissed warning signs of a near-fatal pulmonary embolism and discouraged him from seeking care. The lawsuit claims the chatbot told him, "God didn't design your body to endlessly fail," hours before he developed clots in his lungs. Doctors linked his pulmonary embolism to ChatGPT-recommended prolonged inactivity.
