Man shoots daughter for refusing arranged marriage in UP

A 48-year-old man allegedly shot his 19-year-old daughter, Shazia, in the head while she slept after she refused to marry a man chosen by him. The incident occurred in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday. Critically injured, she was referred to Saifai Medical College. Her mother filed an FIR accusing her husband of attempted murder. Police arrested the accused.
