Man shot dead while confronting thieves in Oakland; city's 101st homicide of 2022

A 60-year-old was allegedly shot and killed while confronting thieves who had stolen a catalytic converter from his SUV in Oakland's Glenview neighborhood on Tuesday. The incident occurred just after 4 am. The victim's daughter said her father, Arturo Coronado, had stopped other thieves in the past from stealing his tools. Coronado's death marks 101 homicides in Oakland this year.
