Man teaches 10,000 people how to swim for free in Kerala

Haunted by a 2009 drowning tragedy, furniture shop owner Saji Valasseril began teaching swimming for free in the Periyar river in Kerala. His Valasseril River Swimming Club has now trained over 10,000 people, including 2,000 children who swam 780 metres across the river. With help from volunteers, Saji runs daily classes focused on safety, community, and courage.
