Man who killed family of 4 in Amethi had illicit relationship with wife, it'd gone sour

Chandan Verma, accused of killing a Dalit teacher, his wife and two minor daughters in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, was in an illicit relationship with the deceased wife, police officials said. Chandan told police they had an 18-month relationship and it had gone sour later, leading him to kill the family. Chandan also tried to die by suicide by shooting himself.
