Man with condition that makes his scalp resemble a brain undergoes plastic surgery in China

A 23-year-old man in China's Hunan province underwent successful surgery after a rare condition, cutis verticis gyrata, caused his scalp to thicken into folds resembling a human brain. The condition had developed during his teens. Doctors spent 11 months expanding healthy scalp tissue before performing a three-hour reconstructive surgery that restored his scalp.
