Mandatory for IIT Mandi students to attend event on 'Afterlife'

IIT Mandi has drawn attention after making attendance mandatory for BTech, MTech and PhD students at a conference exploring topics such as consciousness, reincarnation, afterlife experiences, yoga, meditation and Indian Knowledge Systems. The institute says the event promotes interdisciplinary research into consciousness studies, while critics question the inclusion of such subjects.
