Manipur govt seeks extension of JFD's NRC deadline

The Manipur government urged the Campaign for Just and Fair Delimitation (JFD) to put its September 30 deadline on hold, assuring action on NRC updation demands. Government spokesperson Sapam Ranjan said the administration is working to address JFD's five-point charter, including updating the NRC with 1951 as the cut-off year to protect indigenous populations.
