Maruti Suzuki to be investigated for discounting practices

The Competition Commission of India on Thursday said it had ordered an investigation into how Maruti Suzuki controlled discounts its dealers could offer. Reuters had reported in May that the antitrust regulator was looking into allegations that Maruti forces its dealers to limit the discounts they offer. Maruti has a 51% market share and nearly 3,000 dealers in the country.
