Massive 19-metre octopuses roamed seas during dinosaur age: Study

Giant octopuses may have roamed the seas nearly 100 million years ago, during the age of dinosaurs, a study focusing on well-preserved fossil jaws has found. The study from Japan's Hokkaido University suggests they reached up to 19 metres in length, potentially making them the largest invertebrates ever known to scientists. "These animals were remarkable," palaeontologist Yasuhiro Iba said.
