The French government has vowed action to "reassure and protect" the public as its capital Paris has reported a "widespread" rise in bedbugs. "You have to understand that in reality no one is safe...You can catch bedbugs anywhere and bring them home," Paris Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire said. Notably, Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympics in July.
