Massive explosion at $10 bn Russia-China gas plant before opening, 7 killed

A massive fire and explosion hit a gas ​chemical complex scheduled to open soon in Russia's Amur region, killing seven people, including six Chinese. The $10 billion project is a joint venture between Russian petrochemical firm Sibur and Chinese oil and gas giant Sinopec. The facility is expected to be one of world's largest polyethene and polypropylene producers, once operational.
