Massive wildfire rages in Canada’s British Columbia; 20,000 forced to flee

An emergency has been declared in Canada’s British Columbia province as a wildfire has grown to 9,500 hectares. The British Columbia Premier compared the situation to “a bomb going off”, saying flames were reaching hundreds of feet into the air and the blaze was generating its own weather system and lightning. Around 20,000 people have evacuated due to the wildfire.
