Maui emergency chief resigns after wildfire response criticism

Maui's emergency management chief has quit a day after saying he had no regrets about not using sirens to warn residents of wildfires that killed at least 111 people. Herman Andaya cited "health reasons" for resigning. Some Maui residents said lives could've been saved if emergency sirens were used, but Andaya's agency said the sirens would've been ineffective and confusing.
