Mayawati expels her nephew Akash Anand from BSP over 'anti-party activities'

BSP chief Mayawati has expelled her nephew Akash Anand from the party, citing his involvement in anti-party activities. She termed Anand's response to BSP’s showcause notice as "selfish" and said that his reply cleared that he was under "influence" of his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth. Akash, who was once showcased as Mayawati's political heir, was removed from all party posts yesterday.
