Mayawati removes nephew Akash Anand from key BSP post ahead of 2027 UP polls

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati removed her nephew Akash Anand as chief national coordinator, saying he needs more time to gain political "maturity" before being entrusted with major responsibilities. The decision comes ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections next year. Mayawati had elevated Anand to a key position in August 2025, appointing him as the BSP's national convenor.
