Maysaa Sabrine appointed 1st woman governor of Syrian central bank

Syria's new rulers have appointed Maysaa Sabrine as the first woman governor to lead Syria's central bank. With over 15 years of experience, including serving as deputy governor, Sabrine has been a key figure in overseeing the country's banking sector. She replaces Mohammed Issam Hazime, who held the position until his removal following a rebel offensive on December 8.
