Mbappe dropped by Chinese brands for calling communist revolutionary Mao 'dictator'

France captain Kylian Mbappe was dropped by two major brands in China for "offending national sentiments" by allegedly joking about Chinese communist party founder Mao Zedong. This came after a video surfaced online in which Mbappe said the funniest internet meme he had seen featured his face photoshopped onto that of "some guy, I think he's a Chinese dictator".
