Meena Kumari's 'Pakeezah' to release in 4K at France and London film festival

A 4K restored version of Meena Kumari's 1972 film 'Pakeezah' will premiere at France's Festival Lumiere and BFI London Film Festival. The film's restoration was carried out by not-for-profit organisation Film Heritage Foundation (FHF). FHF director Shivendra Singh said he consulted 'Pakeezah' director Kamal Amrohi's children for the restoration as the original camera negative had almost melted.
