Memories of childhood trauma remain stable over time: Study

A study has found that the memories of childhood trauma, including physical, sexual or emotional abuse or neglect, remain stable over time. However, the study's lead author said that the retaining of memories could vary depending on age, the type of maltreatment and the context in which disclosure happens. Only one in five people change their response over time.
