Memory chip crunch to widen feature phone and smartphone price gap

India's digital inclusion drive is slowing as an AI-driven memory chip crunch has raised component costs. This has resulted in a widening of the price gap between feature phones and entry-level smartphones, Moneycontrol reported. With over 220 million feature phone users, the roughly ₹4,000 gap is set to widen further due to higher memory prices and stronger dollar, it said.
