Men travelling in ladies' coach can now be fined ₹2,500 under new Indian Railways rules
Indian Railways has increased penalty for male passengers travelling in ladies' coaches or compartments on trains. Under the provisions of Jan Vishwas Act, 2026, penalty has been increased from ₹500 to ₹2,500. If a passenger fails to pay penalty, the individual may be produced before competent court and, shall on conviction, can be punished with fine of up to ₹5,000.
