Men's legs were severed as punishment in China 2500 yrs ago: Study

Researchers found two 2,300-2,500-year-old skeletons in Sanmenxia, China, revealing limb amputation as a punishment during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Both male skeletons had identical leg amputations within a centimetre of each other, indicating deliberate and skilled execution. One skeleton lacked its left foot and part of its lower left leg; the other had its right leg severed similarly.
