Menu of first Indian restaurant in UK auctioned for ₹7.6L

The handwritten menu of the first Indian restaurant opened in the UK has been auctioned for nearly ₹7.6 lakh. The restaurant, Hindoostane Coffee House, was set up by Patna-born Sake Dean Mahomed at London's George Street in 1810. The menu comprised over 25 dishes, including pineapple pulao, lobster and chicken curries, assortment of breads, and chutneys.
