Mercedes to pay $150 mn for cheating emissions standards in US

Mercedes-Benz USA reached a nearly $149.6 million settlement with US states to settle allegations that the automaker equipped diesel vehicles with undisclosed software designed to cheat emissions tests. A multistate probe found Mercedes misled consumers and illegally polluted communities nationwide. Under the settlement, Mercedes will pay more than $13.5 million to New York to fight air pollution.
