Messi breaks record for most goals by a South American in men's international football

Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick to help Argentina defeat Bolivia 3-0 in a World Cup qualifying match at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires. With this, Messi took his tally of international goals to 79 and broke the record for scoring most goals by a South American in men's international football. The previous record was held by Pele (77 goals).
