Lionel Messi and his family issued statement after false reports claimed his father Jorge Messi had died following the footballer's emotional celebration in FIFA World Cup match against Algeria. The family said Jorge is recovering from a health issue and asked for privacy, prudence and compassion. Messi earlier said his tears came after “difficult days” and were unrelated to football.
