Messi to play World Cup final at stadium where he once broke down, retired from int'l football

FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Argentina and Spain is being held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the same venue where Lionel Messi announced his retirement from international football. In 2016, he missed penalty as Argentina lost Copa América final to Chile there. After the match, he broke down and retired. He reversed his decision within two months.
