Meta has accused Australia of breaching a free trade agreement (FTA) with the US after the country proposed a tax on tech firms that do not strike deals with local outlets. Meta said that the tax "plainly violates" commitments made by both countries in the FTA. Australia earlier proposed to levy 2.25% tax on tech companies unless they strike deals.
