Meta asks employees to work from home on day it plans to fire 8,000 employees: Report

Meta, which plans to lay off 10% of its workforce on Wednesday (May 20), detailed this week's layoff plans in a memo shared with employees on Monday. Meta employees in North America were asked to work from home on May 20, Reuters reported. In total, the layoffs and transfers will affect about 20% of the company's workforce.
