Meta bans TikTok ads, says 'Don't have to run ads from rival'

Meta has banned advertisements by TikTok-parent ByteDance on Facebook and Instagram, marking a sharp escalation in the rivalry between the social media giants. "We don’t have to run ads from a competitor whose goal is to pull people off our apps," a Meta spokesperson said. The ban will take effect in the US, Canada, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam.
