Meta plans to lay off around 15,800 employees to deal with AI costs: Report

Meta is planning to lay off 20% or more of its workforce as the Facebook parent attempts to balance out rising AI infrastructure costs and impact of AI-assisted workers, Reuters reported. Considering the tech giant had nearly 79,000 employees as of December 2025, this move may affect around 15,800 staffers. Magnitude and date for the cuts haven't reportedly been set.
