Meta reveals it'll fire 200 workers in May, days after laying off 700 employees

Meta has revealed that it'll fire nearly 200 Silicon Valley employees in May, San Francisco Chronicle reported, citing company filings. This comes days after the Facebook-parent fired 700 employees, affecting teams in recruiting, sales, operations and Reality Labs. At the same time, Meta is also increasing its investments in AI, expecting its capital expenditures to hit $135 billion in 2026.
