Meta settles US school district mental health lawsuit

Meta has settled a lawsuit brought by a Kentucky school district over claims that social media platforms contributed to a student mental health crisis. The district alleged the companies used addictive features that fueled anxiety, depression and self-harm among young users. It had sought more than $60 million in damages and funding for a 15-year mental health programme.
