Meta shuts down metaverse app for VR headsets after billions in losses

Meta will shut down Horizon Worlds, its flagship metaverse app for Quest VR headsets. It will be removed from Quest Store at the end of March and fully discontinued on VR by June 15, after which it will continue only as a standalone mobile app. Reality Labs, Meta's metaverse unit, has incurred nearly $80 billion in losses since 2020.
