Meta sued over using Facebook, Instagram photos to train AI for smart glasses

Meta is facing a class-action lawsuit alleging it used users' photos without consent to develop NameTag, an unreleased facial-recognition system for its smart glasses. Parents and children from Illinois and California claim Meta violated privacy laws by collecting biometric data from photos. The lawsuit also alleges Meta trained its Emu AI model on Facebook and Instagram images without permission.
