Meta sues surveillance firm for scraping data via fake FB accounts

Meta has sued to block a US-based surveillance company from using Facebook and Instagram, alleging that it created fake accounts to scrape user data. As per the lawsuit, fake accounts and automated information-gathering allowed Voyager Labs to gain access to data including user posts, likes, friend lists, photos and comments. Voyager Labs created over 38,000 fake accounts, Meta said.
