Meta to face New Mexico trial over youth safety from Monday

A lawsuit against Meta is set to begin in New Mexico on Monday, filed by Attorney General Raul Torrez, accusing the platform of designing its products to addict youth. Calling it a “public nuisance”, he accused Meta of failing to protect children from sexual exploitation. Notably, Meta was earlier ordered to pay $375 million in damages over safety lapses.
