Meta to launch 50,000 km subsea cable for global connectivity

Meta is launching Project Waterworth, a 50,000 km subsea cable to connect the US, India, South Africa, and Brazil. With a high-capacity 24-fibre-pair system, it will support AI and digital infrastructure. Unlike previous collaborations, this will be Meta's first fully owned subsea cable, positioning it alongside Google in controlling global connectivity routes.
