Meta to make mouse-tracking tool optional days after data leak

Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth said the company's mouse-tracking software will operate on an opt-in basis once a review of a recent data security incident is completed. Last month, Meta paused the programme after personal data, including messages, mouse clicks, and screen content, was leaked internally. The software, which was initially mandatory, monitored workers' digital activity to help train AI.
