Meta used AI to target people with disabilities for layoffs, claims lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed against Meta by 26 former employees, claiming that the tech giant deployed AI software to choose the people who would be fired. As per the lawsuit, the AI tool was used by the Facebook parent to "disproportionately target people ​with disabilities ​or [those] who took ‌medical leave". Meta had fired 8,000 employees earlier this year.
