Method to harvest drinking water from air developed: IIT Guwahati

IIT Guwahati researchers claim to have made novel materials that can harvest water from humid air. They mimicked the pitcher plant, an insect-eating plant with a slippery surface and used the concept of chemically patterned Slippery Liquid-Infused Porous Surfaces. The team produced a patterned hydrophilic SLIP by spraying sponge-like porous polymeric material on top of a simple A4 printer paper.
