Mexico approves Merck's antiviral pill for treatment of COVID-19
Mexico's health regulator, COFEPRIS, has granted emergency use authorisation for Merck's antiviral pill, Molnupiravir, for the treatment of COVID-19, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced on Friday. COFEPRIS is also expected to soon approve Pfizer's antiviral oral drug Paxlovid, he said. Obrador added that he plans to make both medications available in public hospitals.
